Short Stories:
For each short story you should be familiar with the following:
Characters: names, ages, occupations, etc
Motivations of each character
Events: Current, referenced and implied.
Places: Names and associations to the characters.
Time Period: Social norms and significance to the story.

Essay Writing:
You are expected to know how to format and organize an essay. I will be looking for:
A Hook
Knowledge of the author / story
A clear and concise thesis statement
Topic sentences
Examples from that story that demonstrate an understanding of what we have read.
